Centrals has been working continuously at the Golden Grove mine site for over 20 years having delivered various work packages ranging from the construction of haul and access roads to tailings dams, concrete works and crushing services.

The following ongoing services are delivered: 

  • ROM feed and material handling including rock breaking and stockpile management
  • Construction and maintenance of roads
  • Management of site sumps and waste, including pump out
  • Load and haul for ROM material, Tails for paste plant feed and other ad hoc haulage
  • Crushing & Screening of road base and other construction material
  • Site dust suppression

DeGrussa Copper Mine - Monty Boxcut & Civil Works

This project included the earthworks and civil construction for the Monty Project (Monty) located approximately 10km east of the existing DeGrussa Copper Mine and located approximately 900km north-east of Perth in Western Australia. Separable Part 1 – Haul Road and DeGrussa Tie-in Works. Separable Part 2 – Monty Infrastructure. Separable Part 3 – Monty Infrastructure (Services). Separable Part 4 – Monty Infrastructure Box-Cut (Mining).

Golden Grove Mine - Airstrip Upgrade

These projects involved reshaping the footprint of the strip and upgrading drainage. The strip was sheeted with 150 mm gravel, sealed with sand seal; and line-marked. The result was an all-weather airstrip which could cater for larger aircraft.  In the second stage, the sand seal was removed; drainage was further upgraded to include the runway apron and carkpark; clearing was undertaken to provide a 30 degrees sight zone for pilots (a safety requirement); two-coat seal applied to the runway, apron and carpark; linemarking; strip lighting; and solar powered wind sock.
